DIY: Glittery Business Card Holder

Ideally, my entire desk would be covered in gold glitter, but this glittery business card holder will have to do for now.

This DIY was super easy (and cheap!). Just apply the Mod Podge to the business card holder (I got mine at Staple’s for $0.99) with a sponge brush, cover in glitter, let dry & repeat until you’re satisfied with the glittery-ness. Apply another layer of Mod Podge and let dry overnight. Enjoy!

Spotlight on: Artist Chloe Fleury

Last week, Refinery29 S.F. posted about paper illustrator Chloe Fleury, and I just had to share the love!

First of all, her studio is amazing — particulary her use of a wooden dowel to keep her washi tape and ribbon in an easy-to-access place, and how saturated with color and textures it is. Not to mention, Chloe is adorable, and her work is so detailed and unique. Head over to Refinery29 to see the full tour!

Make sure to check out Chloe’s studio, hopscotch design — her commissioned pieces are seriously jaw-dropping.

My favorite pieces are her S.F. neighborhood posters (I’m so curious about what North Beach would look like…)

I think I may need to treat myself to the DIY Paper Rabbit Bust kit…

Escape to: Morocco

I have always been fascinated with Morocco. I imagine stretching out on a jewel-toned rug under the warm desert sun after a long day shopping in the souks (and probably scoring some amazing silver rings). Also, they have elephants there. Done and done.

I love artists that incorporate the North African sparkle into their interiors and designs, and I try to incorporate that into my own aesthetic. The bright colors, traditional rugs and wedding blankets and the way that Moroccan design incorporates bold geometric shpaes and decorative adorments are so beautiful to me. Morocco is definitely high on my list of dream destinations and I can’t wait to visit and bring back some goodies for myself…but until then, maybe I’ll DIY this pouf!

Sidenote — today, at I was shopping around at Anthropologie and found these beautiful placements and matching table runner. They kind of remind me of the Moroccan wedding blanket with the cream color scheme and silver metallic woven in. I love ’em!

Target + Neiman Marcus + CFDA = match made in shopping heaven

Well, since I’m trying to live frugally until the holidays to save money for prezzies, I guess i’ll just have to dream of all of these amazing goodies from Target and Neiman Marcus’ collab with the CFDA. I’m so excited it’s all finally out — although I do hope that all of those weird commercials during Revenge are coming to a close soon…I am so not into it! Maybe someday i’ll be able to pedal around on an Alice + Olivia bike and bake hipster cookies…
